Donated by Eric and Ursula Castle for an annual AC competition between the Waikanae and Plimmerton clubs. Eric Castle was the Plimmerton President 1992-6; and was made a life member in 2001. His late wife Ursula Castle was the Plimmerton Club Captain 1998-2000. The competition is played on 1 day with the venue alternating between the clubs. Association croquet is played in all 4 grades. Each team consists of up to 8 players. Doubles in the morning, singles in the afternoon. 3 hours + Law 61. Scoring : number of wins or, if even, number of hoops scored Usually played in February |

The Plate was donated by the Haven Real Estate, of Paraparaumu in 1976. Played between Paraparaumu and Plimmerton. The venue alternates each year. The visiting club selects its team and then the host club tries to match the handicaps of its team to those of the visiting club. It is a handicap competition but the number of bisques is minimised by matching handicaps. Each team consists of 6 players – 2 are nominated to play singles, the other 4 play doubles. Game time: 3 hours + Law 61 Scoring – number of wins, or if even, then the number of hoops won |

Presented in 1947 by Robin Hogg and Ashley Heenan for a challenge between the Kapiti Coast clubs Waikanae, Plimmerton and Paraparaumu. The three competitions are worked out each season by the 3 club captains, venues for the matches rotate. Association Doubles. 2½ hours plus Law 61 Played in the 4 handicap grades [0-3, 4-9, 10-16, 18-24 or 0+, 4+, 10+, 18+ or A Grade, Intermediate, B Grade or C Grade]. Each club has a team of up to 8 players. Each doubles pair plays the other 2 clubs in their grade. The winner is the club with the most wins or, if equal, the most hoops. |
