General
The Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 came into effect in April 2016. The new act is designed to shift the focus from monitoring and recording health and safety incidents to proactively identifying and managing risks so that everyone remains safe and healthy.
A volunteer organisation such as Plimmerton Croquet Club (PCC) must do what is reasonably practicable, and what is within its influence and control, to ensure that volunteers (that means everyone in the Club) are kept safe and healthy. Non compliance penalties can be very severe.
The PCC committee has taken a number of steps to ensure that documents have been created and circulated to meet these requirements to ensure that the Club complies with the Act.
